Piano Lessons with Wizards, Witches, Zombies and Ghosts

Halloween Piano Lessons with Wizards, Witches, Zombies and Ghosts
It is a wonderful time to have fun.

We are having lots of fun here in Dublin, Ireland and you are welcome to join us!
In fact, we have lots of fun all year ’round… playing the piano.

Woo-hoo! We cast positive spells on our young piano students encouraging them to make progress in music. This usually works well, but even if it does not work the odd time, we are sure that we help keep the dark side away! You see, people who play music are usually confident, proud, happy and well-adjusted and these wonderful qualities frighten the witches, zombies and ghouls and keep them away throughout the year. Isn’t that a good thing?

If you would like to arrange piano lessons for your children, you can call us by phone, send us an email or use the forms on our website! We have classes starting soon in North Dublin City near DCU. You can choose from social group lessons with students of similar age or from one-to-one lessons if you are especially serious about your commitment. Our classes are all facilitated by our resident wizard who is highly qualified and has many years experience in music education.

Our wizard gets results!

Spooky Musicians Play Piano in the Afterlife: Regret not learning earlier.

Piano Lessons Dublin with Wizards, Spells and Musicality

Spooky Musicians advise: “Learn piano when you are young and still have flesh on your bones”

Performing music enriches your life. The greatest benefit goes to those who start at the earliest. Do not leave it so late that you will regret it in your afterlife. Our friends in the photo here practise to the bone everyday and still nobody can really hear them, most of the time. Please be wise enough to start at a young age when you still have flesh on your bones.

If you wish to organise piano lessons for your young beginners before it is too late, contact us now!

Spooky Musicians Exercise to Keep Bones in Condition During Piano Practise

These spooky guests have made themselves at home in our music room for Halloween. To be honest we don’t hear too much music from them, however we do hear their bones rattling — at times it gets too much. Blue-Jay, our child-friendly mascot who loves music, is a little bewildered and is hiding behind the curtains. This morning, the spooky musicians were telling us how they limber up – they say it is a very good idea to do some stretching exercises before starting long piano practise sessions. They also do these exercises in the middle of practising so that they get a chance to move around every hour or so. Here you can peep at a video of some of the exercises they like to do.

We heard the Spooky Musicians this morning saying they really love our piano and that it is a pity they could not stay all year round to have the use of it. It seems they are only here for this week and will leave after Halloween. It is good timing that we have a mid-term break while they are here! Hopefully we will be back to normal next week!

We need lots of piano students to use the piano so there is no space for the Spooky Musicians.

If you wish to organise piano lessons for your young beginners, contact us now!

For Advanced Students

Piano lessons offered to advanced piano students in Dublin

Individual or one-to-one piano lessons are offered to intermediate and advanced pianists who are serious about making progress. Pianists from grade 6 international standard (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, or similar) and higher, who may be preparing for higher grade exams, senior cert, external diploma, graduate or post-graduate performance or public performance should have a piano lesson of at least one hour per week. Some students, perhaps spending some years practising full-time, may require two 90 mins piano lessons per week. If you fit the above categories and wish to arrange piano lessons, please contact us to arrange a meeting. You should bring your current repertoire and be willing to perform one or two pieces. At the meeting we would discuss your short-term and longer-term goals, and what coaching plan would be best suited to help you make progress. You may use the Contact Us tab at the edge of the page.

Be a Performing Artist!

In the past we have helped students prepare for all performance examinations up to professional diploma level and academic post-graduate (Masters) performances. Several of our past students are working as professional musicians. We endeavour to bring about performances that are technically sound, feature appropriate style, with an artistic expressiveness that is unique, i.e. you! Your playing should be informed, have conviction and yet be tempered with your own spirit and personality. Always, your playing should express your enjoyment of engaging in musical performance. In addition to preparing scales, ear tests, sight-reading, quick studies, our coaching can help you with technique, tone quality, balance, phrase shaping, style, interpretation, memory, performance deportment and staging, repertoireprogramming and programme notes. If you are interested in this, use the Contact Us tab at the edge of the page.

Career in Music

If you are on your way to a career in music, you may aspire to being a concert pianist. Only a small number of music students will ever make a living as an A list concert artist who performs on the international circuit. If you do not make it to the international stage, you may be happy to carve out a solid reputation in the national context. Apart from being a soloist, there are other career possibilities that require a high standard of piano mastery, such as accompanist, repetiteur, orchestral pianist, chamber music pianist, piano teacher. There are also related opportunities in music departments in TV, Radio, artist management and concert programming where high standards in performance and musical literacy may influence your success.

If you have an exceptional talent, you have a moral duty to develop your talent with diligence and discipline. Instrumental practise is best done during the younger years. Remember, most people who are working as professional musicians started their professional training as a child!

We welcome discussing this further during our first meeting.

Call us today to arrange a meeting in the near future.

Individual Piano Lessons Dublin for talented young musicians

Are you passed the beginner stage and interested in making further progress as a pianist?

Would you like to play piano more fluently and expressively?

Music Lessons Dublin

Individual piano lessons are for those who are committed and wish to work intensively. Our private piano lessons aim to develop your piano playing so you will become competent as an interpreter and convincing as a performing artist. We pinpoint your weaknesses and help you to address any issues that are holding you back. We work on widening your repertoire and learning new works while encouraging older works to be memorised and coloured with poetic expressiveness that is appropriate to the composer, period and context. If you are not quite ready to shine, we will develop the basics such as posture, musical knowledge, theory, sight-reading skills, rhythmic awareness, form and analysis, and other skills related to being a fully-formed pianist. We will also develop technical issues such as fingering, dexterity, strength and relaxation. We will choose a repertoire that is within your reach, that offers you the chance to play fluently and benefit from the enjoyment this brings.

About Graded Piano Exams

We will prepare you for piano examinations, but only if doing so is appropriate to your musical development. Preparing for examinations alone is not a complete or healthy way to become a musician. There is so much more to cover than what the examinations are concerned with. Further development in musical understanding, repertoire, history, style, technique and performance is required between each examination than is generally appreciated. Passing an exam does not mean you are ready to sit the next one, unless you build your knowledge, skill and stamina to such a point that you are enabled to prepare for the next exam in one term. If your preparation takes a year, you are wasting your time – valuable time that you should be using to grow as a musician.

Musical development is more important than preparing for an exam. When you are ready, devoting one term to preparing for an exam is a good way to prove that you have reached certain targets, that you claim to be a fully-formed musician at the level of the examination and you wish a professional examiner to verify this. The examiner can only mark and comment on your performance on the day – an examiner has no idea that you prepared for the exam in a few weeks with ease or that your preparation was a mammoth struggle of two years! The examiner usually has no idea about the quality and breadth of your musical education beyond meeting the requirements of one exam. Please consider the relevance of this and how it relates to your overall musical development, personally. While examinations are good milestones to achieve when used appropriately, the best assessment of musical development is self-assessment tempered with the assessment of a good teacher who monitors your continuing development over time.

Individual/Private Piano Classes are available to committed students from age 4 to 104!

Students from age 4 to about the teenage years should be accompanied by an adult. The parents of young children are expected to be active observers in the lessons, who acquire knowledge about supporting and encouraging development between the lessons. Familial support is very helpful as an aid to making progress. Since the student meets the teacher once or twice each week, it is important that responsibility for practising lies with parents! This is the case until the student reaches certain stages of maturity and independence when old enough to take on responsibility for practising, even when ‘not in the mood’ or fighting against competing interests.

Would you, or your child, like to benefit from this?
